February 22, 2010 Summit Medical Center and Ellendales Restaurant are happy to announce Cooking with Your Heart, the first of many educational cooking demonstrations. Dr. Kathleen Kearney, cardiologist, Dr. Linda McCafferty, internal medicine physician, and Ellendales chefs will teach a cooking segment focused on heart health. For only $15 per person, attendees will receive valuable cooking lessons, recipe cards from the cooking demonstration, food and organic wine tastings. This heart healthy cooking class will take place at Ellendales Restaurant on Thursday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m.
By eating a diet that is low in saturated fats with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains you can decrease your risk of having a heart attack," says Dr. Kearney. This cooking demonstration will give attendees some guidelines to follow when meal planning and cooking. Some of the featured menu items will include black pepper salmon, almond-crusted chicken, and even a surprise heart healthy dessert. Take charge of your health by learning more about nutrition and healthy cooking techniques.
This cooking demonstration will be held at Ellendale Restaurant, which is located at 2739 Old Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN 37214. Space is limited for this special event so please make your reservation by calling TriStar MedLine at 615-342-1919 or 800-242-5662.
